Last October i attended a one day creative writing workshop at Tŷ Newydd Writers Centre. I stayed the night before at an Air B&B in Dolgellau and enjoyed a lovely breakfast in Criccieth on my way in in the morning.
I don’t have many photos of the day, I’m afraid – I wasn’t anticipating that I’d be blogging about it within the year!
Caryl Lewis was leading the session, the author of Y Bwthyn and Martha, Jac and Sianco. I was thrilled to meet so many Welsh speakers who were there to write, and thoroughly enjoyed hearing people’s ideas for stories at the end of a writing session to see whether their stories would best suit a short story, novel or screenplay. For this was the purpose of the workshop, to establish what formats best fit different stories.
Lunch was lovely (soup, cheese and bread), and conversation friendly and positive. It was wonderful to meet Caryl and hear her ideas and opinions on our story ideas.
I enjoyed so much, in fact, that I’m returning this October again, to attend a novel writing workshop this time. I hope it will inspire me and give me a boost to decide on a story and to write it.
